Willem-Jan Meijer

My name is Willem-Jan Meijer, for the insiders Wimpie of the wires, buttons and computers. Ever since I was a child, I have caused heart attacs several times when I had taken things apart again and the standard question was: “will this be okay?” In practice, the answer turned out to be “yes”.
My father took me everywhere and from a very young age I have seen various companies from the inside. The operation of machines was the most fascinating. After graduating from high school, it was therefore a logical consequence to study electromechanics. My name is Hessel Meijer. For as long as I have known I have had a passion for planning and logistics. I kept asking myself how large organizations manage to coordinate all business activities in such a way that a good end product or service is delivered at the end of the chain.
With great interest I was able to take a look at the work floor at storage and transhipment departments of logistics service providers, large production organizations in ‘discrete manufacturing’. For example, the assembly departments for aircraft, vehicles and complete windmills and the pharmaceutical industry. It soon became clear to me that IT and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software play a very important role in this.

Since August 2016 I have been working at SOA People as a supply chain consultant with SAP systems. It must be said that I also work with various other software packages via interfaces. My main tasks during my work are formulating functional specifications (business blue-printing, user stories) and coordinating and performing system tests. Writing system and training documentation and providing training sessions for key users and end users also falls under my tasks.
Despite my experience with various advanced ERP packages and Advanced Planning & Scheduling, I still see added value for you in creating Excel reports and dashboards. This is mainly because of the extensive possibilities that excel can offer and the fact that every office user should be able to open dashboards and reports in excel, without having to create individual user profiles.

My name is Laura Schats. As Willem-Jan’s partner, I am the extra pair of hands when the situation calls for it. For example when pulling cables or to look at a problem from a different perspective or to do a translation into the French language.
